You take another step forward and a freezing shiver goes down your spine. You rub your arms up and down your arms and look behind you. Probably the workings of your imagination, but you think you see a pair of glowing eyes. So you don't think, you just run. The wrong way.
Your foot catches on an overgrown vine and you crash to the ground, swallowing dirt. You cough and pull yourself up. Without looking back, you continue to sprint forward. You run until you are out of the small forest and next to a road.
You decide to walk alonside of the road, but there is a big ditch between you and the road. You make a split-second decision and take a running-start to leap across the water that flows like a stream. Of course you don't make it and splash into the shallow, ice cold waters.
You scream from the sudden-shock and try to grab onto anything to help you out of the water. You see headlights down the road. You yell and wave your arms, but the car doesn't stop.
Then you finally start to cry, you sob as you shiver violently. You pull yourself up out of the water and sit down to give yourself a moment to rest. Your breathing is fast and rushed. To slow down your breathing, you breath in and count to four, breath out and count to four. Slowly, you increase the amount of time in between breaths.
You stand up slowly, and rub your head. You must have hit your head in the whirlpool of event that just unfolded because everything you see blurs and spins. Its effect is immeadate and dizzying, you bend at the waist and vomit on the side of the road.
When you straighten up and take a step forward you collapse. You can no longer find the strength to pull yourself up, so you just lay there and close your eyes.
A while later, you open them again. Weak rays of sunshine try to burst through the trees. You gasp as you try to stand up. Your right ankle burns as hot as if someone just set a branding iron to your flesh.
You whimper as you try to walk. Your eyes droop and all of your muscles cry out like a symphony. Your stomach scrunches up in knots as you realize you have no idea where you are. But there is a dirt path going off to your left that seems like a driveway.
